KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Deep technical knowledge of gear design, analysis, and validation to meet durability, speed, and NVH requirements including durability life, impact loads, high speed conditions, transmission error, and scuffing

• Capable of creating the engineering process standards, guidelines, methods, and tools for both gear set assembly and component-level analysis for each performance requirement. Maintain and present these documents as necessary.
• Able to determine key interface and assembly requirements and then analyze these through engineering methods such as tolerance stack calculations
• Deep knowledge of gear metallurgy, manufacturing, and inspection processes and the related quality classifications
• Excellent problem-solving skills to quickly identify corrective actions, at both a macro and microgeometry level, for gear design and performance issues in all phases of a program from concept design thru validation to production warranty
• Ability to lead a global Center of Excellence team
• Excellent writing, presenting, and training skills to document and share knowledge to the global engineering organization
• Support the global Driveline Engineering organization as the top technical authority in your field
• Ability to identify and apply common design solutions to a wide range of applications to promote component re-use
• Perform engineering analysis and calculations to quickly identify component designs for new business opportunities
• Provide a technical roadmap for advanced technology or cost reduction opportunities
• Issue CAE requests and provide direction as needed for analysis of systems and components
• Create and maintain generic component and/or sub-system DFMEAs and use them to define Special Characteristics
