The latest update, R2025x FD02, is now available and has many enhancements to streamline your workflow, including the ability to add comments to each iteration of your design, save configurations independent of its CAD family, manage Smart Components on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, and more!
Add File Iteration Comments – find your saved iterations faster.
In the last update, we added support for iterations. You can now keep a backup of your files on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and retrieve previously saved iterations of part configurations, drawings, and assemblies from the platform.
Now, it’s even easier to find these iterations beyond just searching by name and modification dates, as you can add comments to each file iteration when saving. For example, by adding notes for your modification, like “decreased cable length,” you can later identify and access this version of your design.

Improvements to Recent Files View – stay focused on the work relevant to your current tenant.
Good news for those juggling multiple tenants on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform: The Recent Files view has just been improved. The view will now only show files that belong to your active tenant on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
No more second-guessing where a part or assembly came from. For example, log in to Tenant A and you see Tenant A files, switch to Tenant B, and the view shows Tenant B files. Previously, recent files from all your tenants would show up.
Even better, a recent file cleared from your local cache will stay accessible, letting you pick up right where you left off without a manual search for it.

Get Notified on Files Under Change Action – resolve blocking conditions before making modifications.
Previously, even if a file was tied under a Change Action, you would be able to lock and edit it, only to later discover that you weren’t able to save it. Now, you’ll get a notification before you lock a file under a Change Action, so you don’t lose your work, saving you time by resolving it first.

Support for Smart Components on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform – save time and effort on having to manually add associated components.
The 3DEXPERIENCE platform now supports SOLIDWORKS Smart Components, along with their associated components and features.
If you aren’t familiar with SOLIDWORKS Smart Components, it is a pre-configured group of parts and features that can be easily placed within an assembly. They are usually created for components that are frequently used. When inserted into an assembly, it automatically brings along related components and features, eliminating the need to manually add them each time.
Now, you can save and manage SOLIDWORKS Smart Components on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform so your collaborators can also leverage your Smart Components!
