Lead Motor drive software engineer

Are you passionate towards design and development? Can you convert your pure scientific skill into a craft or an art of designing energy efficient solutions? Do you have strong knowledge of Motor Control Drives? Then you might be our new Lead Motor Drive Software Engineer, who will be reporting to the Motor and Electronic Chief Engineer and will be part of Danfoss Cooling

Using your engineering expertise, you will lead the Motor Control Drives development projects focusing on energy efficiency, reliability that benefits our customers. Being part of the R&D team in Danfoss Cooling Segment, you will get a chance to come up with innovative ideas and they will always be counted. You will lead by example and will set new standards in energy efficient engineering solutions together with your global colleagues. Leveraging your leadership experience, you will Coach, Mentor and train Junior Engineer and other stakeholders on motor control drives specification.

Your typical day will include
Developing motor control drive specification for Danfoss variable speed hermetic compressor products
Developing motor control algorithms for Interior Permanent Magnet motor, Induction Motor and Danfoss variable speed compressor motor controls
Optimizing the Drive motor package design in close collaboration with the motor designers
Implementing the motor control algorithms into software together with software engineer
Debugging and testing motor control software, and also implementing in Matlab/ Simulink and software coding
Organizing and following-up TRL process with support of laboratory and model shop according to AE Road Map
Define and deploy across R&D the design rules and criteria related to your field of expertise
What we look for
Master degree or above with major in power electronics or automation or control engineering or equivalent major, PhD is an advantage
Strong knowledge in motor modelling ( induction motor, Permanent magnet motor and other motor types) and control theory with electromagnetic field, electrical circuit and signal processing theories. Proficient in vector modelling and control for motors
Good in inverter design, 3 phase BLAC motor control designs with good MCU knowledge, software design and programming and familiar with MCU emulator
Extensive knowledge in Matlab/Simulink and /or other simulation and modelling tools 5 years of experience in motor control and frequency converter / drives working experience is required
Strong English communication skills (both oral and written)
Able to lead a team of engineers in a cross cultural environment
Excellent system analysis and design skill is an advantage
Experience with compressor control systems design, specification, programming, and testing is preferred
Creative, innovative, analytical, structured, proactive and open-minded
