- Perform DOE (design of experiments) for problem solving
- Perform FMEA (failure mode and effects analysis) for designs
- Hands-on participation in prototype assembly and evaluation

- Design test fixtures and test setups
- Work with compliance agencies, such as UL, for component approvals
- Assist lab technicians with data compiling and reporting
- Provide technical support to sales and other areas of the business
- Compile costs and assist in the internal quoting process
- Work closely with customer’s engineers to ensure the project acceptance criteria / specifications are defined and clearly understood.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: - Must have a four-year BSME or BSMET or Mechatronics degree from an accredited university or institution; or equivalent experience in product development
- Must have 3-8 years’ experience developing electro-mechanical components or products
- Must be a proven self-starter with intuition for what needs to be done
- Must have good understanding of metal and plastic materials and their applications
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude
- Must have a good understanding of motor technology, circuit logic, solenoids, and other electrical components
- Must be proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel software (or equivalent)
- Must have a minimum of 3000 hours of 3D CAD design experience; preferably SolidWorks
- Ideally know how to use a caliper, micrometer, and other measurement tools
- Ideally have some experience with data acquisition software
